LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced their All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2020-21 school year, featuring multiple Georgia College softball players.

Five Bobcats, including former Effingham County star Sydney Newberry, earned a spot on the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list for the NCAA’s Division II schools. Players claim a spot by attaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the 2020-21 school year.

Other Georgia College players receiving honors are Haley Howell (2021), junior Carlie Behan (Cumming), and sophomores Bella Carnes (Cartersville) and MacKenzie Hoffman (Rocky Face).

Behan and Howell both pull in the award for the second time in their careers, while the remaining three all make the list for their first time.

The Bobcat Softball season begins in the spring.
