RINCON -- Are you ready for some Monday night football?

Springfield's Rebel Field has been selected as the site for a mini playoff if the South Effingham Mustangs, Statesboro Blue Devils and New Hampstead Phoenix end up in a three-way tie in the Region 2-AAAAA standings.

The Blue Devils (4-4, 1-2) will finish third if they defeat New Hampstead (3-6, 0-3) in Statesboro on Friday, leaving South Effingham (6-4, 1-2)) as the No. 4 seed. If New Hampstead wins, however, there will be a three-way tie for third place and a mini playoff willl be needed to round out the region's playoff teams.

Ware County (6-3, 3-0) and Wayne County (7-1, 3-0) will play Friday in Waycross to determine the top two spots. The Mustangs are off this week.

The mini playoff will start at 5 p.m. Admission will cost $7.
