SPRINGFIELD -- There were lots of hugs in Effingham County's postgame huddle. There were even a few soft chuckles.

Unfortunately, there was no jubilation..

The Lady Rebels' softball season ended in the second round of the Class AAAAAA tournament Wednesday with 13-6 and 7-3 losses to Houston County in a best-of-three series.
