Eagles announce football kickoff times

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University Director of Athletics Sam Baker announced the kickoff times for the upcoming football season. The Eagles will play six games at Paulson Stadium this fall.

Next month the Southern Conference will announce which Georgia Southern games are going to be televised live.

Under first-year head coach Chris Hatcher, the Eagles play four of their first five games at Paulson Stadium. Two of those are evening kickoffs, the season-opener against West Georgia (Sept. 8) at 6 p.m. and the SoCon opener versus Chattanooga (Sept. 22) at 7 p.m.

On consecutive weekends Georgia Southern plays host to Western Carolina (Sept. 29) at 3:30 p.m. then South Dakota State (Oct. 6) at 2 p.m. The game against SDSU is also Family Weekend.

Georgia Southern’s Homecoming game against The Citadel (Oct. 27) is scheduled for a 12 p.m. kickoff. The regular season home finale against Furman (Nov. 10) is slated for 3:30 p.m.

The road schedule includes: Coastal Carolina (Sept. 15) at 7 p.m.; Elon (Oct. 13) at 3 p.m.; Appalachian State (Oct. 20) at 3:30 p.m.; Wofford (Nov. 3) at 1:30 p.m.; and Colorado State (Nov. 17) at 2 p.m. Eastern.
