SPRINGFIELD -- Effingham County's grip on control of its rivalry with South Effingham appeared tenuous Friday night.
The Rebels didn't surrender their advantage, however, as it rallied from a point down in the fourth quarter to win 30-17, notching its third straight win in the series. Effingham County (3-1) holds a 14-11 overall lead.
Desmond House scored on runs of 24, 3 and 27 yards to lead the Rebels. His second touchdown, set up by a 49-yard run on a reverse by receiver Randy Scott, came with 9:52 remaining, answering a South Effingham (1-2) drive that gave the Mustangs a 17-16 lead midway through the third period.
