South Effingham High School will host the 4th annual Mustang Invitational wrestling tournament beginning Friday.

Thirteen schools will take part, including Effingham County and South Effingham’s Area 3-AAA rival Benedictine. Also participating will be Richmond Academy, Battery Creek, Beach, Beaufort, Cross Creek, Hephzibah, Metter, Savannah Arts Academy and Savannah High.

South Effingham is defending its 2006 title. Bluffton won the inaugural Mustang Invitational in 2004 and Effingham County won it in 2005.

Competition begins Friday at 5 p.m. and the finals will start Saturday around 2 p.m.

Tournament organizers also hope to hold approximately 200 junior varsity matches in the SEHS auxiliary gym.
