Sisolak earns 2AA honor

Nate Sisolak of Springfield has been named Region 2AA baseball player of the year for 2007.  

Sisolak, a junior pitcher and first baseman for the Savannah Christian Red Raiders, is the son of Bill and Darla Sisolak.

He was 3-2 with a save and an earned run average of 3.13 on the mound. He struck out 16 and walked six. At the plate, he hit .548 with two home runs and drove in 17 runs. He also had one error in 74 innings.

Sisolak also was Region 2AA honorable mention in basketball and has a 3.47 grade point average.

The Red Raiders finished ranked eighth in the statewide Class AA coaches’ poll and advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to Holy Innocents’. All four Region 2AA teams advanced to the state quarterfinals.
