The Lady Mustangs punched their ticket to Columbus on Wednesday by sweeping Harris County in the second round of the Class AAAAA tournament 5-2 and 9-3.
Senior Kastin Belogorska kept the Harris County batters off balance with a baffling changeup.
“It’s nasty,” South Effingham coach Chuck Smith said, referring to Belogorska’s specialty pitch. “She’s a workhorse. I love her in the circle. She takes care of business.

And Rachel Mixon had a night to remember with three singles and two doubles
The Lady Mustangs tallied a combined 24 hits and hope to bring that same offensive prowess to Columbus.
“We have all the physical ability we need,” Mixon said. “As long as we stay mentally strong, then we’ll do great and I think we can win the whole thing.”
