Effingham County High School senior Hannah Boyd received the Georgia Horatio Alger Association Scholarship. Boyd was the only senior from Effingham County to be awarded the scholarship, which is worth $5,000.

She is the daughter of Marsha Boyd and the late Richard Boyd, and granddaughter of Jewell Dyches and late Cardell Dyches and late John and Betty Boyd.

Ranked at the top of her class at ECHS, Boyd hopes to attend Duke University in the fall.
