The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce is conducting its annual “Pack-a-Pack” to help provide school supplies to local students.

Several needy students in Effingham will receive a back pack filled with supplies donated by local businesses and individuals.

Eligible students will be selected by their schools to receive the supplies. A list of participating businesses will be included in each bag.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to help our local students excel in school by providing them with the necessary supplies and equipment,” said Chamber Executive Director Rick Lott. “It is also a way to promote your business to faculty and parents.”

Businesses and individuals interested in participating are asked to download the form available at www.effinghamcounty.com. The completed form should accompany the donated items.

Items can either be dropped off at the Chamber office or be picked up from a participating business or organization. The Chamber requests donations by Aug. 1.

Items needed include clear/mesh book bags, pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks, tissues, highlighters, hand sanitizers, pocket folders and paper. The Chamber hopes to receive a minimum of 26 of each item.

For more information, call the Effingham Chamber at (912) 754-3301.

To have items picked up, fax the participation form to (912) 754-1236.
