The Effingham County School System’s Department of Exceptional Children, in partnership with Arc of Effingham, will host a Community Resource Fair on Dec. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Effingham County High School.

This event is being held in order to bring local service providers together with students with disabilities and their parents.

Tables will be set up for each service provider where they will share information and answer questions.

“Creating an event of this magnitude was motivated by an expressed need within our community,” said Shannon Knight, transition facilitator for the Effingham County School System. “We believe it will be a great opportunity for students with disabilities and their parents to meet with numerous local service providers in one location.”

The following will be participating in the community resource fair: Warm Springs, The Social Security Administration, Mindspring Center (a partner of Ranicki Chiropractic Center), Jackie Brown (school social worker), Met Life, Goodwill Industries, the Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, Easter Seals, Georgia Department of Labor Career Center, LIFE (Living Independent for Everyone), Dr. Norma Wallace (Effingham County schools special programs coordinator), Head Start and CCDS (Coastal Centers for Developmental Services).
