Two Effingham residents receive diplomas from VSU

VALDOSTA — Two students from Effingham County earned advanced degrees from Valdosta State University at the conclusion of the spring 2013 semester.

Henry Ira Dickerson of Guyton and Jennifer Lynn Polk of Guyton were among VSU’s more than 1,200 spring graduates.

Dickerson received his master of education degree in adult and career education.

Polk earned an education specialist degree in curriculum and instruction.

Valdosta State announces dean’s list for spring 2013

VALDOSTA — Six students from Effingham County made the dean’s list at Valdosta State University for the spring 2013 semester.

Students who achieve a semester grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional GPA of 3.00 or higher are recognized on the dean’s list.

Local students earning dean’s list recognition were:
