Effingham students earn Georgia Tech degrees

ATLANTA — The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students during its 247th commencement exercises.

Local graduates receiving their degrees were:

Jamie Bitting of Guyton, bachelor of science in chemistry

John Compton of Bloomingdale, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering

Nicholas Edel of Rincon, bachelor of science in aerospace engineering

David Jolly of Rincon, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering

Joshua Marlow of Rincon, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering

Matthew Prichard of Guyton, bachelor of science in electrical engineering

Effingham County High School introduced its new mascot, Rowdy the Rebel, this week. Inspired by popular sports mascots, Rowdy will appear at school events, pep rallies, and games, giving students a fresh way to engage and celebrate school spirit.
