Effingham students honored at AASU awards ceremony

SAVANNAH—Six local students attending Armstrong Atlantic State University were honored during Armstrong’s spring 2013 Student Awards Convocation:

Taylor M. Sauerland from Guyton received the Childhood and Exceptional Student Education Leadership Award.

Amber C. Jones from Rincon received the Childhood and Exceptional Student Education Graduate Service and Leadership Award.

Sadie G. Vercauteren from Rincon received the Childhood and Exceptional Student Education Graduate Service and Leadership Award.

Lauren Conner from Guyton received the Roy J. Sims Award for the Department of Adolescent and Adult Education in the College of Education.

Yasmin A. Cofer from Guyton received the College of Science and Technology’s Leslie B. Davenport Award and Silver A for Academics.

Olivia Singleton from Newington received the Dr. Stu Worthington Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Psychology Student from the College of Science and Technology.

Each spring, Armstrong celebrates the most elite students who have achieved distinguished academic success and have engaged in active service to the university and community. More than 80 Pirates were recognized at this year›s ceremony.
