COVINGTON—Members of the Effingham County FFA Chapter recently attended the Georgia FFA Success Conference held March 4-5 at the FFA-FCCLA Center.
The Success Conference was designed for FFA members in grades 10-12. During the two-day conference, members were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and challenged to expand their leadership abilities. The conference included workshops on leadership, opportunities available through the FFA and the importance of service. Students identified their strengths and weaknesses, learned the meaning of character, developed teamwork and communication skills, and met with more than 400 FFA members from across the state of Georgia.
“The Success Conference enables FFA members to develop the skills necessary to be effective leaders within their chapter, school and community,” said FFA state vice-president and conference presenter Kendall Singleton. “Workshops on communication, decision-making and character help turn ordinary students into life-long leaders.”
Local members attending the conference included: Desiree Aanerud, Andrea Freeman, Mercedes Gilbert, Tiffany Hancock, Katie Herndon, Brittany Hodges, Jennifer Maddox, Sara Morgan, Cierra Nichols, Orry Smith, Carly Turcotte and Tyler Wilds.
