The Effingham County School System is now taking appointments for kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 school year. Appointments will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through May 9 at the school district’s Central Registration Center.

Registration information is available on the Kindergarten Registration page of the Effingham County Schools Web site, www.effinghamschools.com. Parents should read the information prior to calling 754-2530 to schedule a registration appointment.

Parents are urged not to wait until summer to register their children for kindergarten. Parents who wait until school starts will have longer wait times, and early registration helps ensure the necessary teachers are employed.

Children currently attending a school-based Bright From the Start pre-K program or preschool intervention program are automatically registered for kindergarten.
