Effingham County 4-H agent Abby Smith recently presented Christine Kirkland the Friend of 4-H Award.

The award is given to a strong supporter of 4-H who has gone above and beyond the call of duty when called upon. Kirkland has touched the lives of many young people involved in the 4-H program and South Effingham Middle School as an educator. Her countless hours serving as a volunteer, liaison, judge and board member have left a lasting impact on the 4-H program, staff and students.

The Effingham County 4-H program appreciates dedicated individuals, like Kirkland, who are willing to sacrifice their time to invest in others.
