Marlow Elementary School held its Veterans’ Day assembly with the raising of new flags on Wednesday.
James Sapp, a World War II veteran, spoke to the students about the importance of veterans.
“You live in the greatest country in the world,” he told the students.
Sapp told them to remember that freedom is not free.
Sapp assisted by students Alex Jonas and Taylor Voisine placed the new American and state flag on the flagpole in front of the school.
The fourth and fifth grade chorus led those in attendance in the national anthem.
Chorus director Melissa McBride closed the assembly with “Taps.”
