The South Effingham High School Mustang Masquers performed “Miss Polly’s Institute for Criminally Damaged Young Ladies Puts on a Show” Tuesday night.

The play about a group of girls preparing to perform “Hamlet” and the problems of understanding the script while under the direction of Miss Mylenbush. The cast eventually overthrows the director, and finds a way to interpret the play.

April Smith directed the play, and said the students also performed it at the Georgia Southern One Act Competition.

At the competition Ashley Taylor made the All Star Cast, and Brittany Brown received the best character award for her portrayal of Miss Mylenbush.

Smith said there are plans for the group to perform in the spring.

Cast members for the production were Brittany Brown, Kat Burnette, William Hatcher, Amanda Hein, Cassie Hiatt, Victoria Houston, Hannah Hyde, Shaneique McCollum, Rebecca Mitchem, Samantha Ogletree, Teresa Rushin, Christina Shores, Amanda Starling, Ashley Taylor, Lynsie Tyler and Nick Wright.

Crew for the production included April Smith, Sandra Raines, Chris Nelms, Amanda Hein, Charles Waller and Ray Ellis.
