The South Effingham NJROTC drill team consisting of 43 cadets went to Fort Stewart to kick off their drill season.

The cadets left after school on Aug. 29 and stayed until that Sunday afternoon. They spent their time practicing drill maneuvers Friday afternoon and ended their day preparing the barracks they stayed in.

The next day the cadets woke up at 6 a.m. to participate in morning physical training. After PT the cadets ate breakfast in the mess hall and later split up and drilled with their individual teams. The teams consist of basic drill team, exhibition drill team and color guard. After drill practice, the cadets learned the manual of arms. Lights out was at 11 p.m.
