The South Effingham High School Talent Show Extravaganza will be held on Friday in the high school cafeteria auditorium. The show starts at 6 p.m.

The event guarantees a wide variety of 20 performances, including bands, skits, singers and dancers. All acts will be judged by a panel of judges and prizes will be awarded for the top three talent acts, as well as honorable mention performances.

The audience members will have the opportunity to vote and to participate in the judging by selecting an Audience Choice Award. The talent show awards will include first, second and third-place prizes for $200, $150 and $100 Walmart gift certificates. Other prizes for outstanding acts will be awarded as well.

Some Talent Show contestants will go on to perform for the Effingham Idol show in the Olde Effingham Days Festival later this spring.

This year’s proceeds from the show will be placed in a fund to support the purchase of a new school stage sound system. In addition to the entertainment, there will be refreshments for sale. Tickets for all ages are $4 in advance and $5 at the door on the night of the show.
