The South Effingham High School wind ensemble will perform with Vincent DiMartino at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah as part of their Music with a Mission on Sunday at 3 p.m.

While the concert is free, there will be an offering taken during the concert with all proceeds going to Second Harvest.

DiMartino is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and was the alumni distinguished professor of trumpet at the University of Kentucky for nearly 20 years. He has performed as a soloist with many symphony orchestras, including those in Cincinnati, Buffalo, Santa Fe, Orlando, and Rochester. He is prominently featured in many recordings of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. He has performed worldwide as a soloist and with artists such as Henry Mancini, Doc Severinsen, Pearl Bailey, Dizzy Gillespie, and Dave Brubeck.

Widely admired for classical and jazz playing, he has also in recent years begun to specialize in virtuoso cornet solos.

Also performing will be the Savannah Arts Academy Jazz Band and the Savannah Country Day Jazz Band. SEHS is scheduled to perform three pieces.
