SAVANNAH — Savannah Technical College is offering an airframe and powerplant certification prep course for aircraft maintenance technicians wishing to take the next step in their career by earning their airframe and powerplant license.

The course will be offered several times during the year with various schedules and covers all areas of the airframe and powerplant testing requirements including general, airframe, powerplant and oral and practical.

In order to qualify, students must have the FAA-required maintenance experience and two 8610-2 forms signed by an FAA representative. Download information and forms from the FAA Web site at www.faa.gov.

Tuition cost for the course is $290, and the total testing fee for all three written tests is $270. Tuition and testing fees must be paid separately.

Acceptable forms of payment include credit or debit card, money order, and personal or cashier’s check payable to Savannah Technical College.

Students can also take portions of the course if they are only interested in certifying in one area (Airframe or Powerplant).
