Students place in post card contest

Two students at Effingham County High School recently won third place in the Jimmy Carter post card  contest co-sponsored by the Peanut Institute, the National Peanut Board and the Jimmy Carter NHS Education Program.  

Sandra Swarts won third place for the 10th grade division and Dylan Odom won third place for 11th grade. More than 20,000 post cards were entered in the contest this year.

Odom and Swarts traveled  to Plains on Sept. 26 to participate in the Plains parade and will have the opportunity to meet President Carter.

Their award-winning post cards can be view on the Web site www.jimmycarter.info.  Both students are in Donna Holder’s drawing class at ECHS.
