Church to stage Christmas musical

Kidsville Ministries of the Rincon Church of God will kick off the Christmas season when they present “Back to the Manger.” The musical will be presented in the church’s main sanctuary at 7 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

Set at a church’s caroling outreach, “Back to the Manger” is the story of four kids who learn that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. Because of a malfunctioning time machine, the kids are tossed around in time through the 1970s, 1980s, 1950s, 1990s, 1940s and ultimately all the way back to the birth of Christ. Through it all they meet some interesting people and experience some unique music styles.

Under the direction of Children’s Music Director Amanda Bunce and Children’s Pastor Daniel Bunce, this cast of about 40 children ages 3 to 12 will get you in the yuletide spirit and make this a truly memorable event.

As part of this year’s program, Kidsville Ministries will be holding a canned food drive for Manna House Ministries. At both performances, attendees are asked to bring a canned food item that will be given to the Manna House to assist a family in need this Christmas season.

Kidsville Ministries is the children’s ministry department of the Rincon Church of God. It includes Kidsville Worship, the Sunday morning church especially for children ages 3-12; Missionettes girls’ clubs and Royal Rangers boys’ clubs, which is held on Wednesday nights and Sunday School classes for nursery ages through fifth grade.
