STATESBORO — Sixth through 10th graders now have an additional entertainment avenue for Friday nights.
Splash in the ’Boro Waterpark and Family Aquatics Center is now offering Teen Splash on Fridays from 6-8 p.m. for only $3 per person.
“The teens can bring their friends and splash around the pools for a couple of hours,” says Splash in the ‘Boro Aquatics division manager, Steve Brown.
Teen Splash is held in the two Olympic-sized lane pools under the heated dome. The pools are heated as well and maintain a comfortable temperature.
Teen Splash is just one of the many programs that Splash in the ’Boro offers “under the dome.” During the winter, programs such as lap swimming, water aerobics, aquasize, family recreational swimming and lots more can be found at the Aquatics Center.
Learn to swim classes are also offered during the colder months to prepare swimmers for the summer. The classes are open to all ages and are taught by certified instructors.
“We try to offer programs and classes that promote a healthy lifestyle and we believe we have a great selection,” says Brown. “However, we are always on the lookout for unique and beneficial programs.”
Master swimming is one of the programs that the Aquatics Center is attempting to offer for ages 18 and older in this area. This program would give swimmers who want to stay fit or compete in aquatics an opportunity to get back in the water with a certified swim coach to help them be their best.
The masters swimming program is designed for adult swimmers who want to work on conditioning and refine technique. Some masters swim participants go on to compete, but most do it for the socialization and exercise. The program would run year-round at Splash in the ’Boro practices would be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 6-7:30 a.m., and would cost $30 per month.
