Matthew Steven Alligood and Mary Lauren Duff

Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Allen Duff of Springfield are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Lauren Duff, to Matthew Steven Alligood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Donald Alligood of Dublin.

Mary Lauren is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Shearouse and Mrs. Mary Jane Duff and the late Mr. Delbert Duff all of Springfield.
Matthew is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Alligood of Dublin, and Mrs. Cora Carolyn Mimbs and the late Rev. Melvin Mimbs of Cedar Grove.

Mary Lauren and Matthew graduated in May from Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, where they first met. Mary Lauren received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in history education.

Both will start their teaching careers in the Effingham County School System this upcoming school year. Mary Lauren will be employed as a kindergarten teacher at Springfield Elementary School and Matthew will be employed as a history teacher and assistant coach at Effingham County High School.

Mary Lauren and Matthew will be married at Rincon Baptist Temple on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 5 p.m. with reception to follow at Woodlawn Plantation.

All friends and family are invited to attend this joyous occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mixon of Guyton announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Cierra Mixon, to Landon Harry Snooks, son of Steven and Harriett Snooks of Springfield. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hill, Sr. of Eatonton, Ga., and the great-granddaughter of James Harmon Sr. of Fort Valley, Ga. Cierra is a 2012 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2017 graduate of Armstrong State University with a bachelor of science in Radiologic Science with a focus in cardiovascular science. Cierra is employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.
