Mr. Stan Mattox and Ms. Robbie Mattox of Blackshear announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney Mattox, to Kennith Bennett, son of Mark and Renee Bennett of Guyton.


Whitney is a 2006 graduate of Pierce County High School and a 2011 graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. She is the granddaughter of Lynda and Robert Bennett of Blackshear and the late Tracy “Oats” Mattox and Jeannine and Ian McFayden of Bristol.


Kennith is a 2008 graduate of South Effingham High School and a 2010 graduate of Georgia Military College, where he earned an associate’s degree. He is currently employed by the Pierce County Board of Education and is a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. He is the grandson of Exie Kessler and the late Erwin Kessler of Sylvania, LeHue Bennett and the late Sherry Bennett of Savannah and Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Bailey Jr. of Guyton.


The wedding will take place on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. at Youman’s Chapel Baptist Church in Blackshear.


Only out-of-town invitations will be mailed; all family and friends are invited to share in this joyous day.
