Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Neurath Sr. of Rincon are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carla Alaine, to Michael Aaron Newton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Newton of Guyton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late H. Lamar and Carrie B. Mock of Springfield, and the late William J. and Mattie F. Neurath of Rincon. She is a 2001 graduate of Effingham County High School and a senior at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Rosemary W. Atkinson and the late Elmer D. Atkinson of Rincon, and Michael L. Newton (Kitty) of Sylvania, and Mrs. Frances E. Cleland (Ed) of Newington, Georgia and the late William E. Rolls of Perry, Fla. He is a 1999 graduate of Effingham County High School, and he earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southern University. He is employed by Hancock Askew & Co., LLP in Savannah.

The wedding will be held at Rincon United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at 5 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
