Kenny and Chrissie Turner and Jose and Lori Velasquez are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Kimberly Morgan Turner to John Simpson, son of Greg and Patty Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Richard and Myrtle Hicks, as well as Jim and Betty Sue Turner. Kimberly attended Georgia Southern University, where the couple met, and is currently employed there as an academic advisor in the political science department.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Fred and Grace Woolard, Dennis Simpson, Ray Jackson and Dorthy O’Neil. He attended Georgia Southern University and is currently working for Advanced Valve and Instruments as an inside sales representative.

The couple will marry March 3, 2012, at Meldrim Woods Plantation in Bulloch County, with Rev. Jose Velasquez performing the service, and a reception will follow. They will honeymoon in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and reside in Statesboro.
