Shelia Short of Springfield is proud to announce the engagement of her daughter, Rose Andrea Whitehead to Robert Joseph Smith III, son of Edward and Shirley Smith and Greg and Margit Annas of Springfield.

The bride-to-be is the great niece of Ms. Jacqueline Maiden of Savannah and the sister of older brother, Isaac Whitehead and twin sister, Jackie Parks. She is a 2006 graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2009 graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University with a degree in photography. She is now employed at SouthCoast Medical Group and also manages her own photography business.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. RJ Smith of Sylvania, Ms. Renate Roberts of Charleston and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nelms of Ellabell. He is the younger brother of Eddy Smith Jr. He is a 2006 graduate of Effingham County High School and a 2008 graduate of Universal Technical Institute with a diploma in Automotive Technology. He is now employed at Boaen Mechanical and volunteers with Isle of Hope Fire Department.

The wedding is planned for April 2011 on Tybee Island Beach.
