Dr. and Mrs. John Richard Wilson of Menlo Park, Calif., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ariane Robin Wilson, to Courtney Eugene Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Eugene Lang of Springfield.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Clara Jean Marrow and the late Charles Edward Marrow II of Palo Alto, Calif., and Frances Delores Wilson and the late John Richard Wilson of Mound City, Mo. She graduated from Stanford University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and a minor in linguistics. After graduation, she worked at Stanford University as a molecular biologist researching subcellular signaling during pathogenesis in plants. She cloned a gene responsible for plant resistance to bacteria that cause Black Rot disease in tomatoes. She is presently in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of California, San Francisco and will graduate in 2010.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mary Davis Martin Calhoun and the late Lewis Mitchell Calhoun of Springfield, and Mary Enecks Lang and the late Ret. Lt. Col. George Augustus Lang of Springfield. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from North Georgia College and State University in 1999 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia in 2006. He served 11 years in the Georgia Army National Guard with a one-year tour of duty in Iraq; studied Spanish in Madrid, Spain; and completed residency training at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich. He is employed as a clinical pharmacist in the spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and polytrauma unit at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, Calif.

The wedding will take place Oct. 27, 2007, in Woodside, Calif. The couple will reside in San Carlos, Calif.
