08.28 Pace Wedding
Casey Nicole and Craig Patrick Pace

Casey Nicole Collins and Craig Patrick Pace were united in holy matrimony at 4 p.m. on June 20, 2009, at St. Simons United Methodist Church. Rev. Chip Strickland, pastor of Guyton United Methodist Church and former youth director of the bride, officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John Roy and Marsha Collins of St. Simons Island. The groom is the son of Charles and Patricia Pace of Springfield.

Nuptial music was provided by Betsey Fitzgerald, harpist, Kevin Lamb, organist and Kim Dixon and Chad Pace, soloists.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was lovely in a strapless ivory gown that featured champagne organza and intricate beadwork on the bodice and semi-cathedral train, which flowed from the full A-line skirt. Her tulle angel cut veil was elegantly decorated with Swarovski crystals and beading. The bride carried a classic all-white nosegay of hydrangeas, tulips and roses, wrapped in ivory double satin ribbon and adorned with pearl pins and the bride’s grandmother’s heirloom locket.

The bride chose Mary Catherine Rainey of Brunswick to be her matron of honor. Katherine Oswald of St. Simons Island was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Graham of Pawley’s Island, S.C., and Jennifer Turner of Statesboro. Ann Coble of St. Simons Island was the flower girl.

The attendants wore tea length dresses of periwinkle organza which featured a pink satin sash at the waist. The bridesmaids each carried a nosegay of pink hydrangeas and mixed greenery.

The flower girl wore an empire waist, tea length dress of candlelight silk with organza and pearl flower accents at the shoulders. She carried a pomander ball of white and pink carnations tied with periwinkle ribbon.

The groom’s father served as his best man. Groomsmen were Chad and Chris Pace of Springfield, brothers of the groom, Stephen Bradley of Rincon, and Josh Pharis of Pooler. Connor and Bennett Floyd of Franklin, Tennessee, twin cousins of the bride, were junior groomsmen. Connor Pace of Springfield, the groom’s nephew, was the ring bearer.

The groom was handsome in his black Calvin Klein tuxedo with a black vest and white rose boutonniere. All his attendants were dressed identically to him except for wearing periwinkle vests. The ring bearer carried an heirloom heart shaped pillow that had been made from the groom’s christening outfit.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Brunswick Shrine Club.

After a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the couple resides on St. Simons Island.
