Overby wins United Way drawing for Disney trip

Larry Overby of Georgia-Pacific’s Savannah River Mill was the winner in a United Way drawing for a three-day, two-night stay at Disney World. Winners are drawn from those who attend United Way campaign meetings. He was shown with Camille Russo, the United Way of the Coastal Empire’s 2010 campaign chairperson. Larry Overby of Rincon, an employee of Georgia-Pacific’s Savannah River Miller, was the winner of a drawing for a trip to Disney World.
 
This special prize includes a three day, two night stay at a premiere hotel, two Disney park hopper passes and transportation from hotel to park.
This prize was donated by Prince-Bush-Smith Hotels and Westin Savannah Harbor.
 
The United Way of the Coastal Empire includes Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. The annual fundraising campaign will conclude on Nov. 19.  
 
The UWCE’s campaign goal is $8 million and to date they have secured more than 52 percent of its goal. Effingham County’s goal is $270,000 and has secured 80 percent of its goal.  
 
United Way of the Coastal Empire provides funding for nearly 30 health and human service programs in Effingham County. Some of those include: Treutlen House, Effingham Victim Witness Assistance Program, Medbank, Parent and Child of Union Mission, L.I.F.E., Farmer’s Garden, F.O.R.C.E., Community Cardiovascular Council, Savannah Speech and Hearing, Hospice-Savannah, W.I.N.S., and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.
