Members of the Effingham Civil Air Patrol Squadron recently spent a Monday evening at Manna House Ministries in Rincon packing food bags and boxes for those in need of food in the community.

Capt. Richard Bush, unit commander, said the service project was a wonderful way to give back.

Founded Dec. 1, 1941, the Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit volunteer organization for people ages 12 and up. It consists of three primary missions: cadet programs, aerospace education, and emergency services. Nationally CAP currently has 64,000 members, over 27,000 of those being cadets.

The Effingham squadron meets on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 226 Goshen Road in building 200. For more information call (912) 429-8050 or visit www.ga453.org.
