The Effingham Chamber of Commerce’s 20th annual Holiday Classic Business and Crafts Expo will be held Nov. 23 from noon-4 p.m. at Effingham County High School. Applications for vendor spaces are being accepted now and the entertainment schedule has been finalized.

The event will kick off a new “Buy Local” program the Chamber is rolling out.

An addition to this year’s Classic is a drawing to win two gift cards — one for $100 in gas and one for $100 in groceries. Cards with all the vendors’ spaces will be given out to attendees, who will then get each vendor to mark their cards off. Then the cards are taken to the Chamber’s booth for the drawing at 3:30 p.m.

Businesses from Effingham County, along with artists and craftsmen, will host exhibits of their products and services in the hallways of ECHS. The local 4-H Club is selling Thanksgiving meals for $9, and word is they usually sell out early.

Santa will be on hand again to let the kids get their photos taken on his lap. Free souvenir photos in special Christmas cards will be given to the kids. The day also will be filled with entertainment by local children and groups in addition to holiday shopping. A wreath auction will take place again, and local schools donate beautiful holiday wreaths that are sold at Holiday Classic in a silent auction setting. Proceeds go to the Empty Stocking Fund.

The public is invited and admission is free for the day. Call ahead if you want to reserve a holiday meal.
