Airman First Class (A1C) Jason L. Burgstiner of Rincon recently graduated from the 12 week Air Force Cryptologic Technical Training School at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas.
Present to see him get his Certificate of Training were his parents, Major (ret.) Danny Burgstiner and Dawn Burgstiner, both of whom are teachers at Effingham County High School. Burgstiner also earned his Wings (the Aircrew Member Badge), pinned on him by his father, and his Intelligence Badge, pinned by his mother.
Prior to his arrival at Goodfellow, Burgstiner completed nine weeks of basic training and eight weeks of aircrew training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, and 48 weeks of Persian Farsi and 16 weeks of Dari at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif. After survival training starting in February in Washington he will be assigned to Offutt AFB in Omaha, Neb.
