Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center held its first special needs horse camp from July 18-22. The PATH International certified center holds weekly camps for able-bodied children each summer. The camp is led by program director Hallie Myers.

CEO Bonnie Rachael hopes to expand to four weeks of camp for special needs students next summer. Five local students participated in the first special needs camp and learned skills such as horse grooming, tacking, leading and riding.

The week culminated with a horse show for parents in which students performed various riding skills learned during the camp.
