Fireworks on tap for Tybee
River Street to hold Independence Day events starting at 5 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m.

Tybee Island will host Independence Day fireworks July 3 at 9:15 p.m.


The fireworks show can be enjoyed from the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion, the beach or anywhere on the eastern side of Tybee Island. This event is free and open to the public.


The 3rd Infantry Division will host the “Salute to the Nation” ceremony today at 6 p.m. at Fort Stewart’s Cottrell Field.


“Salute to the Nation” will consist of a historical and flag narration, followed by a 50-state cannon salute. Maj. Gen. Robert “Abe” Abrams, 3rd Infantry Division commanding general, will be the keynote speaker.


Savannah’s celebration will take place on River Street on Wednesday night. The fireworks show will begin approximately at 10 p.m.
