A group of 120 runners turned out to support the Treutlen House at New Ebenezer at its second annual Summer’s End 5K Trail Run on Aug. 16.
“This almost doubled the runners from last year,” said Treutlen House Director Kristen Wert. “This is a great way for people to come out and run/walk the trails of the scenic New Ebenezer area.”
And in the process, the runners and walkers raised money for the Treutlen House at New Ebenezer, a group home for boys in the foster-care system. All proceeds will help with the Treutlen House’s daily operations and creating a family-oriented home for the boys, Wert said.
Age group winners were awarded Savannah Carriage rides good for four people, sponsored by Housemaster of Savannah.
Overall winners will enjoy a three-course dinner for two at The Mansion on Forsyth restaurant or The Bohemian Hotel, sponsored by The Kessler Collection.
Treutlen House already is making plans for its third annual trail run next August, according to Wert.
