The city of Guyton recently hosted its public safety event in conjunction with its annual Spring Sale Along the Trail for the first time.

The Guyton police and fire departments, Effingham County EMS and Georgia Forestry Department offered safety tips and gave out items such as coloring books, child ID kits and smoke detectors.

“It worked out really great,” said City Manager Robert Black, who thanked the patrons, vendors and city staff who made the event a “big success.”
