The Effingham Hussars Chapter 2285 of the Georgia Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy recently made a book donation to the Effingham branches of the Live Oak Public Library System.

The book, “Savannah: Brokers, Banners and Bay Lane,” was written by Barry Sheehy and Cindy Wallace with Vaughnette Good-Walker. It is the second in a four-volume series written in commemoration of the Civil War’s 150th anniversary. This volume deals with slavery and has information including some of the common names found in Effingham County.
