Venturing Crew honored with Discovery Awards

Four members of Venturing Crew 369 were awarded their Venturing Discovery Award at their bi-annual awards and recognition court of honor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rincon. St. John’s Lutheran Church is the charter organization that hosts Venturing Crew 369, which was founded two years ago.

To earn this award, each member completed 24 hours of community service, two Tier II adventures and earned their certification in Wilderness First Aid/CPR/AED. Additionally, they each completed the following training sessions: Introduction to Leadership Skills, Goal Setting and Time Management and Officer’s Orientation.

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age that focuses on high adventure and outdoor activities. 

The Coastal Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America serves over 6,500 young men and women annually through traditional scouting, inner city ScoutReach programs and Explorer Post programs. Boy Scouts of America provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. For Life.”
