A series of four workshops entitled “Automating Your Bookkeeping with QuickBooks” will be held beginning April 28. They will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. in the computer lab on the second floor of the Coast Georgia Center for Continuing Education at 305 Fahm St., Savannah.

This series is cosponsored by The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and the Department of Continuing Education of Armstrong State University.

The first session in this hands-on series will be on April 28 and will cover the set up of a manual bookkeeping system and compare it to its computerized counterpart using QuickBooks.

The second session will be held on May 5 and covers setting up a company in QuickBooks, determining opening account balances, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Session three will be held on May 12 and teaches you how to perform basic bookkeeping functions including: sales/invoicing; customer receipts; paying bills; generating standard reports; and bank reconciliation.

The last session in the series, held May 19, reviews how to set up payroll in QuickBooks, writing checks and using QuickBooks to track your company’s payroll liabilities.

A detailed workbook will be provided. The cost of this seminar is $199 per person for all four sessions.  For further information or to register, contact The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center at (912) 651-3200 or on the Internet at:  www.savannahsbdc.org
