SAVANNAH—As the manufacturing economy begins to turn around in our area, more and more employers are looking to find skilled workers and are turning to graduates of Savannah Technical College’s Electrical Mechanical/Manufacturing Technician program, offered at the Effingham Campus.

This month, the college begins monthly information sessions to increase awareness of the program and the many employment opportunities surrounding it.

“These are good jobs in our community,” says Effingham Campus Dean for Student Affairs Bobby Solomon. “Students can complete the program in less than a year and be ready to work.”

The first information sessions will be June 30 at 1 and 6 p.m. in Room 135 at the Effingham Campus. Prospective students can learn about the curriculum and meet some of the area employers looking to hire graduates.

The session will include admission and financial aid information as well as an opportunity to hear from representatives of companies such as EFACEC and other local companies in the area.
