SAVANNAH — Beginning in January, Savannah Technical College will offer an airframe and powerplant prep course for individuals with experience in aviation mechanics who are interested in pursuing the FAA approved airframe and powerplant certification.
The initial course will be AMT 300 – preparation for FAA aviation maintenance technician airframe and powerplant certification. The course includes 60 hours of training (50 hours of classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction and 10 hours of oral and practical evaluation), all study materials, and a guarantee to satisfy the requirements of Code of Federal Regulations, Title 14, Part 65.75 and Part 65.79.
It will be offered Monday–Thursday evenings from 6-10 p.m. through the college’s professional and continuing education department. Classes will be taught at the Crossroads campus.
Savannah Technical College offers a number of aviation-related programs including aircraft structural assembly, luxury craft cabinetmaking, luxury craft interiors and aircraft electrical assembly.
