Explain why you are running for office: To unite our county, cities, and IDA to work together spending taxpayer money wisely for the benefit for all citizens of Effingham County
List your top three objectives/priorities for the next four years: Promote honesty and integrity in government in creating jobs, lowering property taxes, stopping wasteful spending, and restoring pride in our county.


Reggie Loper

Family: Wife, Sherry; five children, 10 grandchildren, all live and work in Effingham County
Occupation: Retired from CSX Railroad
Place of birth/how long have you have lived in Effingham County: Born and raised in Springfield and my family has been here for seven generations. I have lived 4.6 miles from downtown Springfield for the last 34 years.
Previous political experience (what other offices have you held or run for): None other than 4th District commissioner
Explain why you are running for office: I never had any desire for public office but after retiring, I realized I had the opportunity to give back to a community that had been so generous to my family. It is not good enough to pay your taxes and sit back and complain. We must all get involved to make Effingham an even better place to live. We must ensure that our citizens get the best qualified representation they deserve and I feel I have the experience to lead during these difficult times. It would be an honor and privilege to continue to serve this great county and its people.
List your top three objectives/priorities for the next four years:
1) Lower taxes without compromising services
2) Move forward with our transportation projects
3) Promote an atmosphere for business and industry development leading to job creation


Jamey Stancell

Place of birth/how long have you lived in Effingham County: Oconee County, S.C.; I have lived in Effingham County since 2008
Previous political experience (what other offices have you held or run for): None
Briefly explain why you are running for office: I feel the 4th District needs a commissioner who can work with both county and city government to better serve all members of the county. The county needs to be the leader in developing a better working relationship between the cities and county, and I believe I have developed some relationships that will set the foundation for such efforts. 
List your top three objectives/priorities for the next four years:
1) To become an effective commissioner who can work with other commissioners to build unity and teamwork among all government bodies.
2) I would like to build and restore Effingham County as a tourist destination, by showcasing our great history and points of interest within the county, while bringing additional revenue to the county, cities and local businesses.
 3) Restore Effingham County’s financial stability, which has be deeply depleted over the past couple of years, while working with each county department to reduce any waste and to set up a solid foundation for county growth.
