Alleged home invasion suspects turn themselves in

Two suspects in an alleged Thursday night home invasion turned themselves in to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office late Monday afternoon.

Deputies were searching for Robert Zork, 28, of Ellabell, and Staci Shearouse, 29, of Ellabell.

Zork and Shearouse were suspected of robbing a victim at his residence shortly before midnight Thursday on Godley Road in what was reported to authorities as a home invasion.

Investigators are interviewing Zork and Shearouse and the case is still under investigation, according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.

The ECSO’s Drug Suppression Unit also is investigating the case.

Two men were arrested Tuesday in Eden after a domestic dispute led to a standoff. Deputies say George Driggers, 47, threatened his girlfriend and law enforcement with a gun, then barricaded himself inside a home. His father, Alford Driggers, 80, was also charged for allegedly threatening deputies.
