The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at a local hotel early Thursday morning. Shortly before 4:30 a.m., Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies and Rincon Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Rincon Inn and Suites in the 6000 block of Highway 21 South. The suspect forced his way into the hotel and pointed a firearm at the clerk, according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.
