A Pooler man was arrested Monday on child molestation charges.

Brian Brown, 32, was charged with aggravated sexual battery and aggravated child molestation following a joint investigation by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department.

Brown “engaged in sexual activities with a child,” according to ECSO spokesman Detective David Ehsanipoor.

Ehsanipoor stated he could not elaborate on the circumstances, in order to protect the minor’s identity.

Brown was taken into custody by ECSO investigators Monday afternoon after he was interviewed at Savannah-Chatham Police headquarters in Savannah, Ehsanipoor said.

Brown was denied bond in magistrate court Tuesday and was bound over to superior court. He is being held in the Effingham County Jail.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case, Ehsanipoor said, to determine if Brown molested any other children.

“Anyone who is arrested for sexual molestation who we know has had sexual contact with a minor, there’s always the potential that more victims are out there,” he said.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to call the ECSO at 754-3449.
